What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Filler Injections, commonly referred to as Filler, are medical aesthetic treatments used to add volume to diminished areas of the face. These treatments use a sugar molecule naturally occurring in the skin that plumps up and hydrates the skin, creating a rejuvenated appearance. Dermal filler treatments work especially well for cheeks, lips, around the mouth area, chins, and jawlines.

The Dermal Filler Treatment
The treatment itself will begin with a discussion of your medical history and expectations from the treatment. Your experienced medical professional will conduct a facial assessment and mark up the injection points that will be treated. It is a non-surgical procedure, administered into selected facial areas by a trained medical professional, using a very fine needle. Generally, treatment takes around 1 hour. Discomfort is typically minimal and only sometimes will a little local anaesthetic or numbing cream be required. The injection may cause a little pressure and slight pain but normal activities can be resumed soon after. After treatment you may have some slight redness and swelling around the injection points which will settle in the following hours and days. On average, the results are fully seen between 2-14 days post-treatment and last around 6-18 months, depending on the area and filler chosen to be used.
